Founded in 1988 by Mr. Rodrigo Masses-Artze, company president.

Focusing on an energetic business plan that includes implementation of new technologies, MAKRO is commited to making sure its products keep abreast of emerging trends in the market.

MAKRO executives and management officials have been active participants in a series of meetings stemming from the 1994 economic summit held in Miami, Florida, which dealt with the Free Trade Zone of the Americas for the Year 2005. Also participated in and contributed to meetings at Dallas, Texas; Cartagena, Colombia; and Bello Horizonte, Brazil. Following the new economic trends, MAKRO has opened a new showroom in Santiago, Chile, and has established strategic alliances with business associates in El Salvador, Colombia and Venezuela so as to cover the Hispanic Market. From its headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico, MAKRO is able to serve the Caribbean Basin.

MAKRO began its business specializing in Modular System and Office Furniture design and sales for the educational, institutional, commercial and goverment sectors. MAKRO gradually continued developing various modular system products; office furniture, regular and special file systems, and chairs. Thanks to its growth and diversification process, MAKRO now represents more than fourty (40) companies and manufacturers from Canada, USA, Central and South America, Europe and Asia; thus enabling our company to furnish such items as custom-made hotel furniture, and special sound-proof mobile walls for banquet halls mini rooms or any sub-division area, as well as special hospital, pharmaceutical and laboratory furniture. For security and control centers, MAKRO's modular workstation furniture and accesories provide unmatched flexibility for virtually all types of network equipment storage needs, featuring a wide range of different-sized components that can accommodate present and future growth and system changes without disrupting existing facilities.

MAKRO also offers specialized filing systems for libraries and unique storage solutions in the form of high density, customizable, expandable and durable solutions that provide greater security.
